The Belle of the Redwoods competition is nearly as old as Paul Bunyan Days itself and has become a favorite tradition of the residents of Fort Bragg! It is not a beauty contest. Contestants compete by dressing in “old fashioned” or theme appropriate dress and selling raffle tickets.
Last year we expanded our reach by allowing men to run for the first time! It was so successful and fun we are continuing to run the contest with both male and female contestants. This year we will crown both a Belle and a Beau!
Belle & Beau coronation will be held at approximately 2pm at the Logging Show on Sunday afternoon.
Each contestant earns 10% of her ticket sales, and the top 3 Belle contestants also win cash bonuses!
The proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets benefits the Paul Bunyan Scholarship which is awarded to a Mendocino Coast local pursuing higher education in Forestry, Logging or Ecology associated fields.
